2. Confirm your graphics card drivers are up to date.
Check your graphics card software and make sure it's updated. Select NVIDIA GeForce Experience, or AMD Radeon Software. If you are using an older Graphics card, it's probably not supported.
3. Check that your dedicated graphics card is set to run Ravenbound.
Make sure your Dedicated Graphics Card is running the game (click here for details).
4. Download and install Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable and .NET Framework
Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable and .NET Framework:
a) Uninstall Microsoft Visual C++ and Restart your PC
b) Reinstall Visual C++ 2015, 2017, 2019 from Microsoft's website.
c) For Windows 7, Download Microsoft Windows SDK for Windows 7 and .NET Framework 4
5. Check if you are missing any Windows updates.
Make sure your Windows Update Centre has been updating your PC successfully. Manually check for available updates and make sure that a successful connection confirmed no pending ones.
6. Check for any programs that could be interfering with Steam and/or Ravenbound.
Search for, and disable/troubleshoot programs that could potentially interfere with Steam. Most notably:
a) Turn off Steam overlay
b) Disable background programs for recording and screen capturing
c) Temporarily disable your antivirus software
7. Launch the game in Windowed mode.
Try running the game in windowed mode:
a) Via Steam open your game Library.
b) Right click on the game title and select "Properties"
c) Click on "SET LAUNCH OPTIONS", and type in "/windowed".
d) Start a game session
8. Change your game settings file.
Try different game settings:
It's possible to give it a boost by disabling Anti-aliasing. Go to Documents\Avalanche Studios\Ravenbound\Saves\settings\(Steam ID)\ and open the json file. Scroll down to 'GraphicsAA' and set the value to 0.
9. Verify integrity of game files.
Verify integrity of game files:
a) Via Steam open your game Library.
b) Right click on the game title and select "Properties"
c) Select the "LOCAL FILES" tab and click on "VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES..."
d) Start a game session
10. Try uninstalling and reinstalling Ravenbound.
One of the simplest solutions, but a very effective one if you've tried everything else, is to uninstall and re-install Ravenbound.
11. Check your Windows Installation
If none of the above solutions helped, you may wish to check your Windows installation
12. Contact support with your MsInfo & DxDiag files.
If the above did not help, send us your DxDiag and MSInfo files (in .txt format) and let us know that you have completed all of the above. Check out this article on how to obtain it.
